As you may have noticed, things are a little more quiet than normal around here. I thought I would do a little filler blog to update you all on the goings on over here.
Bottom line: Not to worry, things are finally running pretty smoothly behind the scenes as we play catch up from the handful of setbacks we encountered at the start of the year. There are new things in the works, and psst: a giveaway is on the horizon!
Customs Timeline Updates: Between illness, a few personal rollercoasters and the Great Kanekalon Debacle of 2015, we are still running behind on custom order turnaround times by approximately 2-3 weeks, for which I am so terribly sorry. It absolutely kills me to be behind schedule, and the stress of it has actually caused a domino effect of anxiety and (I'll admit it) depression that has been a significant battle the last few weeks. I *think* it's safe to say I'm back on the upswing. This last week in the studio has been really productive and my family has been wonderful the last few days helping me to be able to work in optimum conditions. Aunt Flo finally dropped in, (yeah, we talk about menstruation openly here, if you can't hang don't let the door hit ya on the way out) and I feel like with that regeneration my overall mental health is leveling back out and getting grounded. All good things! I would LOVE to get ahead enough to deep clean the studio soon. (#goals).
I do hope to start closing the gap and truly catching up to original deadlines towards the end of the line, but please, anyone waiting on a custom order: if you are getting anxious or know you'll NEED your work completed by your original dates, don't hesitate to get in touch. I have been known to bend time and space to make miracles happen.
New Things?! Can it be?! YES! There are several new prototypes that are in various stages of production at the moment. 2015 might very well be the Year Of Prototypes, in fact, as I have a head full of ideas for the future of Imp And Petal. I'm not going to divulge any particularly juicy information just yet, but I do urge you all to Join The Imp & Petal mailing list and follow the Facebook page for the earliest information on how to be the FIRST to get your hands on these things and be a tester for us!
Also, still very much on the list of upcoming attractions: Our "Buyer's Guide" to synthetic dreads! This will be a multi-segment blogging project and will hopefully serve as a really fantastic landing point for anyone new to the world of synth dreads and other alternative hair extensions. The first segment is all written and ready to publish as soon as I get the visual elements and links all sorted out, and will cover the basics on what's available to you while simultaneously showcasing a broad range of artists all over the world. I'm very excited to get it posted and start the ball of proper education rolling! Please leave any comments or questions and I will do my very best to consider them when writing up the following segments.
And wait... did I read you drop the Big "G"? Damn skippy. It's gonna be a fun one, too. I won't say exactly when it'll drop (all I will say is that landmarks are involved) but one thing is certain: This will definitely be one for the creatives in the crowd! So put on your thinking caps and *ahem* crank up your favorite tunes. ;)
That just about covers it for now! While you're waiting on new custom order slots to go live in the Spring, why don't you make sure you're following us on all your favorite social media?
