#SupportingSophie Artist / Designer Application
Hello, beautiful people!
Thank you so much for stopping by and showing and interest in this project of ours. We hope to include many new designers to our ranks this year, and are well on our way to having a great time in the planning group already! While we wish we could include absolutely everyone, we're only on our second year and are still a pretty small operation. Due to this, we do have to be a little selective about how many new names we add to the list. So: accept the challenge, show us your best stuff, and make sure you can comfortably adhere to our guidelines for the best possible chance of having your applications accepted!
Applicants will be notified by email as soon as possible following review, and if accepted , sent an invitation to the facebook group for all kinds of fun color scheming and connecting with like-minded people.
Huge thanks to each and every one of you who applies!! If it doesn't work out this year, we hope to keep making this an annual event, so keep an eye on us. Big love to all of you, and thank you so much for your support.
~ The #SupportingSophie Team
Official deadline is November 1st.
All donated items will be shipped to Terri, our super awesome auction host in the UK, so we ask that anyone outside that shipping zone check estimates with your local postal branches, and plan well in advance in order to provide ample time for arrival by the deadline. Late arrivals may or may not be included in the final auction.
Participating Designers are solely responsible for shipping costs to our auction host in the UK.
Designers will be expected to photograph their own contributions prior to shipment.
We will be using these photos to hype the event and give potential bidders a detailed peek at your creations. We expect the highest quality you can muster up, and we will be setting some simple guidelines as we get closer to the date. (ie: In focus, against a plain colored background, include one closeup etc.) Nothing too fussy, we just want to keep images consistent for the sake of presentation.
Jewelry, Headpieces, Dread Beads, Clothing and other "subculture" related items art/music/writing are WELCOMED!
There is no hard set color theme for these, but if you want to coordinate with a theme group, please feel more than welcome. Collaborations ftw! <3
We will NOT be including gift cards or vouchers in our auctions this year,
so please get a head start on your contributions to make sure you're ready in time. <3
If you will be contributing Synth/Wool Dreads for one of the compilation sets:
The general theme this year is "Elements" with an emphasis on the mythical creatures that embody them (air/harpy, earth/tree spirit)
Please feel free to interpret this however your creative little hearts desire, or join a collaborative project within the group.
Length, colors and style can be decided within each group.
If you wish to submit a solo set, please keep the total dread count ABOVE 15 DE / 30 SE
. If you're only wanting to contribute a handful of accents, join or form a sub-group with some of the many participating artists, and keep the schemes cohesive for us. Thanks!!
Facebook Business Pages or Blogs are also acceptable options here. Anywhere we can get a taste of your work!
Give is a short bio on you, where you're from, what you do, and why this event is important to you:
These will be displayed publically as your bios on our acknowledgement page, so go ahead and do it up right. ;)
